Greetings again from ‘Down Under’! Spring is almost upon us but we are very mindful here in Marlborough of the ‘false sense of security’ that this time of the year can bring, as it is usually followed by at least a couple of harsh frosts, before the true warmth of Spring seeps through.
One promising beacon is the flowering of our apricot tree; always first to blossom and which this year for the first time brought in five bellbirds, which are forest-fringe and very secretive creatures, to feast on the scarce harvest of nectar. What a teat to see them up close and personal!
